If you're looking for a truly unique experience, look no further than the little town of Bunol. While this town is normally an ordinary working city, for one week in August it turns into party central. The week is culminated with the world's largest food fight on the final day. Large trucks dump thousands of tomatoes into a crowd of thousands of people. Everyone in town grabs as many tomatoes as they can and hurls them at anyone within range. It is truly one of the most fun days of the year in Spain. However, don't plan on eating any tomatoes for about a month afterwards. You probably won't be able to stand the sight of them.

Another great place to visit is the Palacio Real (Royal Palace) in Madrid. You can get in for about $6 and it is well worth the cost. This palace is absolutely huge with about 2000 rooms. It's been around since 1738 and it is still as breathtaking today as it was back then. Be sure to visit the State Apartments and the Reception Room within the palace. They are the highlights of the tour.
